Cam for 350

My son just gave me an Elgin E923P and a set of lifters. 350 with 041 heads, headers, edelbrock performer and a holley carb. What is ya'lls opinion on this cam. Think he has had it for years although it is new.

Re: Cam for 350

Specs look like a decent cam with good low to mid range power. Run it with a stock converter and see what happens.

What Holley carb? You'll not want more than 600 cfm's. Maybe 650 cfm's at max.

Re: Cam for 350

It's in a 72 C20. Pretty old cam probably better cams out there though. Problem is I don't really know what is in this engine. As I just got the truck. May just wait until I pull it to see what it really is. I looked at the specs and sounded like a good truck/Rv cam.

Re: Cam for 350

That's the same as the Edelbrock Performer cam and I just bought the Summit branded one with same specs for my kids Jimmy project. Should be a good increase over stock but still compatible with stock converter and carb. What they used to call an RV cam.

We are running a Performer intake with remote choke JET Q-jet, Skip White HEI, and a set of Speedway Motors 2 1/2" 'vette manifolds. Waiting on a Claimer style oil pan with windage tray and scraper along with trap doors before we screw it back together.

Re: Cam for 350

Definitely have to see what you have now but, that cam will give a little more low end torque and be done around 5000rpm if that.
