looking for a 69-72 blazer SW US - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have made up my mind that I want a blazer or Jimmy, but what I don't know is if I want to get one that is restored or do the restoration myself. For those of you that have done it what would you recommend? I would appreciate any input. Also If there are any for sale in the south west (I am in tucson AZ) and it would have to be within a 1 to 2 day drive from here. Thanks!!

If you want to do the project then I would recommend that, but if you think you may get burnt out you can save ALOT of $$ and headache by buying one that is done. Did you see the blazer that 1972blazer is selling on the parts board? Beautiful and I think he is in California. It is the nicest blazer I think I have ever seen. Here is the link to his for sale ad-

I agree with 1970blazin, If you have the knowledge to do most of the work youself than geta builder. I have a 1971 and I have had to do allot of work myself and I had to "Farm out" some work as well, but mine is no means a "Concorse restoration" I built mine as a driver restoration. There is allot of difference, it's all in what your pocket book can afford. Remeber this saying though. If you plan on the project costing $6000 to $8000 add $3000. Especially these older Blazers. Parts are hard to find now and new are very expensive. There's a 1972 K-5 Blazer here in my little town in Colorado that's for sale. If you want I can stop and ask him what he wants for it. I know it doesn't run but it's all there. Just email me.

take a look at the one I have that is almost finished. I have everything to finish it except the carpet and sill plates. It is a no expense spared frame off on a California rust free body. I did replace some metal that was weak before it was shot in DP90. All body sheetmetal was media blasted bare then sealed with DP90 epoxy sealer in preperation for paint. I want $13,000 with the engine or $10,000 without the engine. It runs and drives right now, just need to paint all panels and assemble the body.

Mine would be the best of both worlds. You have one that is ready for paint and final assembly so you finished a frame off restoration.

I am in Victoria, Texas (SW of San Antonio) so may be in your 2 day drive. You could fly in & drive this truck home. I just took it out for a spin last Sunday, about 75 miles, & everything is in good order.
the truck body is stock, no rust, w/ Tuff Country Easy Ride 2" Lift incl. springs & shocks. The engine is a stock TBI Chevy Truck engine w/ a built 700R4 4 Speed Auto. 3.73:1 Gears W/ Posi. plus much more.
