1978 Scottsdale Stepside..New Here.

Hi guys I am new here and need some help. I am dropping my truck 5" in the back with a DJM flip kit. Now I read the instructions and can't really understand it. Does anyone have pics of their procoess of how they installed one or helpful tips?

Support the frame of the truck on jackstands. Support the rear axle. Unbolt the leaf springs at the front and at the shackle. Bolt the leaf spring back on but this time with the leafs under the axle. Place the saddles on the leafs and bolt everything back up.

Re: 1978 Scottsdale Stepside..New Here.

The 2 bottom "U" saddles mount under the axle and into the bottom of the spring perches, make sure you put them in with the 2 small holes Forward as this will pull the drive shaft out enough from the tranny to prevent binding, the 2 top brackets are your shock extenders, which you would bolt on to the shock mounts on the axle, mount the 2 red bump stops on the frame directly above the axle to prevent your axle from bottoming out on the frame. Pretty easy. search the site for pics as i've seen a few with pics of the setup
