Questions about learning how to fix rust
Can someone recommend a good tutorial or youtube that will help me to learn how to fix rust? I'm particularly interested in fixing the rust above my wheel well.
Thanks in advance, Joe |

Re: Questions about learning how to fix rust
I'm assuming this is for the t-all...do they make patch panels for it?....if you have to build them from scratch you'll need some basic tools...most of us dont have the big shop equipment to repop a needed piece but can get by with some small scale stuff...
I'd suggest reading thru MP&Cs build on the 55 wagon....http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...564201&page=42

Re: Questions about learning how to fix rust
Here's some pictures of it. I don't think its as bad as it could be, but nonetheless, the rust has to be dealt with. I think the PO may have to tried to put some filler in the wheel well picture.

Re: Questions about learning how to fix rust
the spot under the grill should be a easy fix...looks like a flat patch would fix that right up......
the wheel well is a different story...your working with curves,radius,transitions,etc.. with the tooling needed to fab a repair piece it maybe easy to find a donor panel...yeah ..I know those are everywhere... I would sandblast or strip to bare metal that area around the wheel well to see what you have left to work with...

Re: Questions about learning how to fix rust
try to find a replacement quarter patch panel from another vehicle that is similar ,the back quarter looks like might be shaped like a 56 chev car
