First truck pics
this was my first truck. My grampa bought this truck new in 69 and my father and I restored it in the mid 80s it was a 250/6 with 3 on the tree we put power steering and a 327 in. It's the only truck I have seen with a 250/6 with factory a/c. I had this truck all trough school and my first date in it as well, damn those were some good times . The next pic is me and my grampa you can kinda make the truck in the back ground that was 30 years ago. I'll find better pics of this truck and post them when I find them..

The connection with previous generations is way cool! It made me think of my grandfather. He made me learn to drive on a '64 Chevy P/U. He said that once I could drive that I could drive anything. In addition, I taught my wife to drive a manual on that very same vehicle. She is about the only one I trust to drive my '67 BB 'maro now. I guess Grandpa new what he was talking about.

Yep, I wish that my dad would have kept a 69 that he had when I was about 5 or 6, loved that truck. I kind of bucked the trend in my family, since my granddad drove f$rds and then switched to dodges in the mid '70s. I just wanted a truck to haul things every once in a while, and missed working on a project and thought the best looking trucks were the 67-72's so here I am.

Nice truck.
Really nice. I really like stepsides. About the generations thing. I just bought a truck from my Uncle, that started with my dad, then uncle, then grandpa, then uncle, and now, ME!  Really like your truck Whybynu. |

Thanks guys, I learned to drive in this very truck,I think it was more fun because it was my grampas truck funny how a picture can bring back so many great memories, thats why I posted that pic. grampa is gone the truck is gone and the picture brings it all back. KEEP ON TRUCKN GUYS !!!!

I was at a family reunion over the 4th and someone had some pics of everyone setting out in the front yard of GrandMa's under the big oak tree. Everyone's cars and trucks were in the pic. Uncle Ron's 69 C-10, Uncle Curt's 60 Impala SS (409), Mom & Dad's 65 Ford Fairlane Wagon, and a few others. The pic was from 71. Everyone was looking at the people and hair styles, I was looking at the vehicles......

Awesome story! That's some heritage. I've had my 69 since 89, and have no idea how many owners it had. I do know it was bought new from a dealership in Electra, TX, a small town that's just about gone now. I drove though it earlier this year, but could find no signs of a car dealership having been in any of the boarded-up buildings. Sad, huh?

Mike 1969 C10 LWB -- owned for 34 years. 350/TH350, 3.08 posi, 1st Gen Vintage Air, AAW wiring harness, 5-lug conversion, 1985 spindles and brakes. 1982 C10 SWB -- sold 1981 C10 Silverado LWB -- sold, but wish I still had it! 1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming. Retired as a factory automation products salesman. Worked part-time over the years for an engine builder and a classic car repair shop. Member here for 23 years! This is the very first car/truck Internet forum I joined. I still used a dial-up modem back then! |

I was stationed overseas in the Army and was pretty much broke (to young and free) and sold it to my brother inlaw and he was NEVER going to sell it yea right ! Theres no telling whatever happened to the truck, hopefully some guy has it and is living he dream and doing a frame off and it will be the next Classic Truck center fold you never knows...
