I would like to put sealtbelts with the shoulder harness in my truck. Anyone know what vehicle is best to get them out of?

If you are a slim person, and your normal passenger is too, I have heard that the Older S-10 set up works pretty well...but it isn't for us with the Done-Lop disease. (belly Done Lopped over my belt)

I've seen several posts saying that the belts from rod mags are too short. If you choose to go new,might keep this in mind.

Just use them from a newer Chevy truck. I believe they all had them by the early 70's. (73-up?)

My truck has them but I can't tell what they are out of. They do say 1981 on them but that's it.

Ive just finished putting the S10 belt in my 72 . They need a bracket if you still have the gas tank behind the seat .
They work great and I'm not that slim 5' 10" 200 Budwieser Keg for a stomach .

Here are some pictures . Plan on having your seat in the full back position as the release buckles are kind of short.

Here is a shot of the retractor bolted to the bracket .
The bracket is 1 1/2" by 3/8" steel bar 8 3/4" long with 1/2" holes drilled 7" apart .

The other side the bracket is under the carpet ,but one end bolts to the original seat belt hole and the retractor bolts to the bracket with 1 1/2 " long bolts no other hole was needed .

how did you make the bracket??? I found some in an s10 blazer, (dark charcoal gut) and want to put them in my 70 with buckets and console... this is inspiring...

I got my belts at the Santa Maria truck show from a vendor called Ricks. He said I would have to make a bracket so they can be installed. I went Home Depot and bought a 90 degree angle piece with holds already drilled. They work very good.

Mike; I just went to Lowe's and got some 1 1/2" by3/8" bar stock I had to buy 3 Ft. that was the smallest.
I'm not good with metal or wood ,but I used my Sawsall to cut the stock , made (2) ,9" pieces then drilled( 2), 1/2" holes ,the first hole was 3/4" from one end and the second was 7" from the center onf the first .
You may need to shorten the lenth of the bracket for the bucket seats .There may be more room to work with.
After I was done it looks like I could have used 8" long brackets and still cleared the gas tank on the drivers side.
