Hey guys, anybody ever replace the center seat belt for the rear extra cab bench? My problem area is the metal guide bracket that's near the top of the back rest and in front of the window. How did you rout the new belt through this piece? 2007.5 1500 extra cab.

Does anybody have access to Alldata.com? I don't seeing as I'm not working for a dealer right now. That's about the best I can think of for this seat belt deal.

For anybody in the future, you cut the plastic molding/trim that fits over the top of the metal bracket. That's straight from GM. Great engineering.

If you loosely remove the trim panel, then unbolt the bottom of the seat belt(not the retracting end) and then fish it out if the trim panel.

Edit: this only shows the outer belts. Not the center one. But that belt made it through the hole, so it should come out.

Right on, thanks for the reply.

My brain was focusing on the metal bracket when I only really needed to worry about the plastic trim. I ended up going over to a dealer and they were cool enough to pull up the gm version of alldata.com. It says "cut trim" even those guys were baffled at he the crappie design. Today I'm making a thin cut to slide the belt through.
