no headers yet, but i know of my options... A or G body should fit, but it looks as if Hedman shorties should work too, will decide when it's time to fire it up...

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

got to lay a coat of paint on the rad core support, have all the new bushings ready to go...

digging out all the clips and bolts etc. to start hanging the front clip...

there's a car wash down the road with those high pressure wands.. i'm going to take all my engine accessory brackets, etc. down there and wash them, that should degrease and clean them all, so i can paint them and start assembling the engine... updates as they come over the next few days/weeks...

hope everyone is well and getting ready for spring

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

i noticed something else, when i put the engine/tranny(bout 800 pounds) in, the front end didn't go down very much... it looks like it's higher than the back...
i'm hoping all the fenders, hood, radiator, all the other crap under the hood etc. etc. will make it go down some more LOL

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Just finished reading your whole thread. Great looking project. It's the Olds power that initially caught my attention, I like unusual combos.

One thing I noticed... On the ball joints on the upper control arms, the bolts are in backwards. The nuts are supposed to be on the top side. This is so that there is more clearance around the boot on the bottom side.

Good luck with your project!

Oh, and I think you're right that the additional front end weight will bring the nose down.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

update: washed all the parts at the carwash

painted the front of the radiator core support with rattle rustoleum semi-gloss black(1 can), the inner fenders were painted on top with the same(one can per), and underneath with rustoleum black hammer paint(one can per)...
need to buy more paint to do the other side of the rad supp...

pics when my wife gets back with the camera LOL...

will try and bolt up the core supp, and the inner wells, to the fenders tomorrow if it's not raining
