Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Good luck Ray.

All I know is I am extremely happy with my new custom carb. This is no BS honest to gods truth. It is the only carb I have ever owned that when cold will fire up turn of key. No pumping pedal no feathering. Truck can sit for a week get in turn key fires and runs first lick. I think that impresses me more than anything lol.

Weather permitted I will be driving the truck to get trans installed. It will be slipping like a mother but the new one will fix all that.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Does your truck have a 3 or 4 speed auto now? I can't seem to get my column to go all the way down into first gear after my 4 speed swap.

3 speed. Is it binding at the column or the shift rod? From my understanding I could be wrong. Is you need a longer shift rod. Lmao. Idk have not messed with the four speed in these trucks.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Once you get yours in let me know. I put in the lokar linkage but I just don't think the shifter goes down that far on the column. Just need to mess with it more I guess.

Hell I forgot to post I scratched the 4 speed idea and went with a race ready TH350 from PTC. Now if I remember correctly a old timer told me you will have to notch the column so it will do down into 4th gear or buy a column from a 4 speed truck.

Sounds good, what mufflers are you running? Sounds like you may also be running an XPipe? What size exhaust?
