Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

Another thought, have we seen any Original Black Dash Pad/Black painted area in front of dash with parchment belts that were not Highlander/Custom Deluxe trucks? Could this exception be limited to Highlander/Custom Deluxe trucks?

Another point. Jason, your parchment belts are spectacular!!

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

Speaking of different plants doing things differently, does anyone have a photo of a '72 built in Baltimore that shows the interior trim color? The examples I have (including my truck), the exterior color is shown, but the interior color is not listed on the SPID. My build sheet clearly lists shows "Parchment Trim" but it did not print on the SPID.

I think not!!, So far I can't recall anybody posting a pic or mentioning a original truck that was a cheyenne super with balck dash/steering and had white belts.

Thanks, I do like the parchment belts. I need to find the correct boots, and I will be good to go.....Jason

Yeah, that's the same truck. But if you just sold it, maybe it was your ad I was looking at. They were asking $5950 I believe, which was just more than I was looking to spend for a driver. Cool truck none the less. Do you remember what color of orange it was?

No, we never ran an ad. We bought a BB cheyenne from that guy and he wanted something a tad nicer than his so he bought the orange truck. I think we were asking $3500-4000 for it.

There was only one true orange in 1792. I think GM called it Tangier or something spelled like that.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

Late to the party but this thread caught my eye.

I'm replacing the parchment bench seat in this super with parchment buckets. Wasn't sure if the original black belts would be correctly paired with parchment buckets/console. Also, anyone with an orange super have a matching orange rather than black glovebox?

Pics show the original interior: Parchment panels/seat/headliner with black wheel/column/belt/dash pad/glovebox/and dash immediately below the windshield. AC vents orange to match dash.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

regarding the black glovebox door - that could have been stock. Subj has come up before as folks have seen quite a few (but I still wouldn't call it "common") originals with a black glovebox door that didn't match body color. So, if the VINs match between gb and cab, you should be confident it's original. COme to think of it - I've only ever seen the black gb door that didn't match body color on ochre (primarily) and a few red trucks like yours.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

Jocko - Thanks. It's definitely the original GB door:

Question Re: 72 Cheyenne Super interior questions

The black glove box door thing seems to be a parchment interior thing. At least every one I've seen had parchment. I would think your seat belts should also be parchment.

I like the look of parchment belts but the black belts shown were definitely original equipment for this truck - I'm curious if the belts would be black though if the seats were parchment buckets....
