Question Dash temp light with gauge?

Is the "Temp" warning light used if there's a factory temp gauge? I'm replacing HVAC ducts and the old dash pad, so my gauge panel is out for the first time. While checking all the light bulbs, I noticed one is missing -- the one for the "Temp" warning light. Factory temp gauge is in place and working, just wondering if I should replace the missing bulb, maybe have a gauge plus an idiot light. Does it even work like that? Thanks, guys.

Re: Dash temp light with gauge?

The temp light holder is there but not hooked up when you have the temp gauge. I've got plans in the future to hook it up so I can have both gauge and light. Here are a couple threads:

Re: Dash temp light with gauge?

You get one or the other not both. Which is a lot my life.

Thumbs up Re: Dash temp light with gauge?

Thanks for the info and the links.... good stuff! Since I am up to my arse in alligators and not in need of more complication, I will forego getting the light to work, at least for now.
Been doing fine for 40 years with a gauge only.

Re: Dash temp light with gauge?

I did a fuel injection conversion and used that as the Service Engine light.
