How do you Convert non-gauge to gauge cluster?

I went to GMCPauls site for this and don't undertand it. Can someone simplify this for an electrical moron like me?

If you're taking it from a donor truck, just take the electrical harness under the dash with it, and the simple engine compartment harness as well. Then it's just a matter of swapping things out. Make sure you get the oil line from the block to the oil gauge as well.
