Adding PAG 46 oil to my new A6 Compressor

I am trying to get my AC system to function. And change it to 134a. So I bought this new Four Seasons compressor, But the labels are confusing me.The yellow label says it comes charged with PAG 46. But there is also a pink lable that says to add more oil in the side filler hole. HOw do I know how much oil to add? And when I install it into. the truck what prevents oil from leaking out the back. Obviously I have never done this before or I would not be so confused.

Re: Adding PAG 46 oil to my new A6 Compressor

The whole system might hold 6-8 ounces of oil. (haven't looked it up). The compressor only has three. If it were me; I'd drain the new compressor and measure. Add new oil.

What you don't want to do is add oil through the low pressure side. It's not compressible and can damage the compressor.

If the system is open I would try and distribute the remaining oil through the system. Pour some in the drier, condenser, and evaporator.
