Question Spindle questions.

If I were to say buy a drop spindle for a 68, and buy a spindle for a 72, are they the same part # ? Is the part # the same from 73-87? The reason I ask is I wanna convert my truck to disk. I don't have the option of rolling a whole new crossmember from a 73-79 truck under mine. I do have however a complete spindle set from a 72 suburban w/ centerlink. And I also the same from a 79 Suburban. Now I have been told that all you have to do is use the proper year ball joints to do this. I have also been told that by someone that tried this that he had camber problems. Ones that he could not fix. That's why I wanna know if drop spindles are the same in those year spans. Thanks for any help.

I used a set of stock spindles I picked up at a local bone yard from a '75 (?) Blazer and went back and got the center link from a '76 truck. I then went to the parts store and got ball joints and tie rods for a '75 model truck. I also have the stock springs from a '65. I have no problems with camber etc... It only took the alignment shop roughly 30 min. to do the alignment and they had no problems with it. They barely shimmed it up to tell the truth. My tires wear like they should and I have had no problems. Good luck.

73-87 spindles will work on 71-72 but you need to get the correct ball joints and modify the a arms to accept the new ball joints.

A arms are same, you dont have to modify the holes for the balljoints, asd the casings are all same, just the stud length and diameters changed.
From 72 to 73 only the upper b-joints are different.
