Found out my rear wheel cyls were toast. started yesterday and have the pass side replaced. Brake adjusters were froze. Gonna knock out the driver side later on this aft. Brakes have been a little iffy since I bought the truck.

Yesterday actually, finished insulating the fire wall and under cowl with EZ Cool insulation. I applied two layers on the fire wall and one on the cowl area, used 3M head liner spray adhesive, adheres really well.

I'm sure the sense of humor didn't come out right away, lol. But glad you have it. I'm sure you'll get it together.

Less than 500 miles into driving the pickup in its current configuration, the trans is toast!

It was just rebuilt, hopefully the builder stands behind it!

I hate to ask... but what trans is it? If its a th350 or th400, the detent (kick) down cable is VERY important to get set Correctly... or it will slip the clutches and fry a good trans... Sorry for your luck though..

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I spent 5 hours to get 1.5 sets of inner fender bolts down to metal, and I never did get to my nuts. Tired and my back hurts. Mom called at 2am, because one of her Shepards was dying. By the time I got there (five minutes away) he was a breath a minute, and I only witnessed three. Bruno was quite large, about 120 lbs. Very graceful.

It was unusual to see how the other dogs reacted. The emotional one was looking for consoling (she's part white lab, white labs are VERY sensitive). The other boy, who is near 2 years old was off as well, though confused. When I brought him inside it didn't quite register, though he's a very smart dog. I've noticed that in some animals. They recognize you in life, not necessarily in death.

Last two weekends got the engine, radiator support and frame painted. Installed new shocks and front steering stabilizer. Ready to install motor next.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

said good bye too this one today.
it was cool to see this one go down the road and have the "other guys" view of it rippin down the street.
the new owner was more than happy to drive it 45 mi. home.....its gonna make one bad azz ls'd shop truck hopefully we get to see this one in the future.

before and after pic...not much done to it but we cleaned it up and got it running driving good. its a beast of a 2wd truck even with the 305 in it.

i woulda loved to build this into a k but i really dont need yet another truck in peieces here.

onward i go sanding on the stepper and getting the axle and motor back in the k

Drove it about 20 miles to a local Cars and Coffee gathering. It showed well and we had a great time.

TH350, everything was adjusted right, and it was running good. It came apart under full load shifting into 3rd. I got it out last night and it seems as though the input shaft sheered all the splines off inside or I broke the drum. 500hp shifting right at peak power was just a little more than it wanted.

my TH350 will not shift down on its own, i always i have to manually do it under load (if i feel it needs a downshift). could my kickdown cable not be adjust correctly?

I would say its not right... At WOT the cable should be all the way tight... Im sure there are some youtube vids on how to Correctly adjust it. If its not right it WILL kill a trans way too early

ahh... May want to look into a built 200r4 they can handle a bit more than a th350 and you also get an O/D... its the lesser known brother of the 700r4 and you can get then cheaper

Your builder may have used some cheap innerds in it... see what he will stand behind and go from there.

I put the seat and door panels back in the truck. I kept the original vinyl on the seat and sewed in new plaid from SMS. While it was apart we added a little new foam to the sagging ends. It sits like a new seat. Also re dyed the door panels.
