I removed all these oem brackets off my chassis because I am doing a B52 conversion on the front springs and a shackle flip on the rear springs. All the brackets are in great shape besides misc gouges from removing the rivets.

-Pair front/front spring core support hanger left and right $150 (Sold)
-Pair front/rear spring hangers $50
-Pair HO52 Bottom plates $25 (Sold)
-Pair D44 Top plates (Sold)
-Pair Rear/rear spring hangers 4 pieces (cut shackles will be removed) $80

All prices include shipping in flat rate boxes conus

Thanks,

Hey Gene, not sure what that part would be. I tried searching it and only came up with aftermarket parts.

The part I think you are referring to is a K5-specific piece that reinforces the LH frame rail at the PS box.

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

I believe this bracket on the inside of the frame rail, behind the steering box is what he's asking about. It is on at least some trucks, my 72 swb 4x4 has it.

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

I'm not sure what year they started, I don't believe 67-68 have them. I think it was 71 or 72. ( I'm referring to the steering box reinforcement ).

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

I never knew gm made a reinforcement for the K' s. Maybe a 72 only part? No plate on this one. Thanks for the education guys

Brackets were pulled from a 1971 K20. I'm not sure if the hangers are the same on all the 4x4 trucks/blazers as this is my first 4x4 build.

Yes there are some differences between years, not sure on specifics. I believe 72 rear/forward hangers are longer. 67-68 front/forward hangers are cast. Other members might know more.

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

if anyone want to see a nice build thread check out Custom10"s. He did a great job documenting his 72 swb build, not to mention it I a beautiful truck. Custom 10 I still have the swb 4x4 chassis you sold me years ago. Just looked and it has the steering box stiffener.

Whow, I was thinking it was a 71-72 change, so it goes back at least to 1970 !

Thanks for the compliments!!!

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

Good to know. I don’t believe these reinforcements are on LWB 4wds. K5s and SWBs then but I wonder what years.

Curt sorry to hijack the sale thread.

Interesting information we are learning here about the steering box reinforcement plates. I did look at a 72 shortbed chassis that had one today. Funny how this came up because prior I've been looking at aftermarket reinforcement options for that area prone to cracks. No problem here guys

Re: 4x4 Chassis Brackets

Might you have a section of the frame where the steering box mounts?
