Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

The seats are out of like a 2002-2005 Wide track GP. The seats were pretty easy to fab brakets for except the rear of the drivers side. The track is not steal, so I had to bolt a bracket to it, then to the floor.

Does anyone have any Ideas for a center cousel in my truck, should I make one or find something in the bone yard that will look good?

You might try this since you have metal working skills:

I like the look of it, but I would need something else to go with it, just not sure what.

I was over to your house a couple weeks ago and we didn't get anything done. Maybe next time.

Last night my brother and I worked on the gas tank that I didn't know I had on the shelf. Here are a few pic of the build.

Also why is this cross memeber not square to the frame????

The tank mounting brackets look good! Just wondering if you are going to have sufficient ground clearence?

Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

So I have been removing parts and changing parts on the truck so I have a few things that are for sale.

Gas tank behind the seat...........great condition
new rear bumper w/ brackets
new rear licence plate bracket

I don't know what the value is on these parts, but shoot me a # and we will go from there.

Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

I got a little done tonight on the truck, started by removing the rear axle and cleaning the gunk off of it and making 1 1/4" lowering blocks for the rear, just for now, I still want to get an air bag setup. I will be removing the stock fuel tank tommarow.

Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

Tonight I got the body taken off and put the rear end back under the frame. Lots of work to be done to the frame now that I can see it. As well as the cab. I ordered new cab supports the other day, so hopefully I can get them on soon. Its starting to get cold out and I want to get this thing painted before snow flys.

Tonight I finished cleaning up the frame and got it painted. I also rolled the cab on its back to get ready for the cancer surgery on the bottom.

Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

Thank you for the posts, but I am jealous of most of the people on here, because they have bottomless pockets and unlimited warm weather. Its starting to get cold here. I have a 100,000 btu furnace in the barn, but its not insulated yet.

I havent been working on the truck in a couple day because I am finishing off my basement so my brother and his wife can move in. (someone to help work on the truck!!!!!) But I will get to work on it this weekend.

I also got a box from LMC, new cab mounts and lots of bolts for the box and fenders.

Very interesting read. You have some very good skills and love the way the truck is coming out.

Re: Project 1970 Step side C10

Thank you for the comments!!!

Today I got the bottom of the cab scraped and replaced all four cab supports. It worked out pretty good except for the bolt holes didn't line up very well. I only have a few more spots to cut out and replace and the bottom is done.
