Don't yell at the dog

A man was in the shop with his morning paper when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 Feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men walking single file.

The man couldn't stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said:
"I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I've never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?"

"My wife's."

''What happened to her?"

"She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her."

He inquired further, "But who is in the second hearse?"

The man answered, "My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my wife when the dog turned on her."

A very poignant and touching moment of brotherhood and silence passed between the two men.

"Can I borrow the dog?"

The man replied, "Get in line.".

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

Re: Don't yell at the dog

Ha! My grandfather told me that when he was around 7 or 8 he had a dog. He said his dad could have a short temper and so he and his dog were always out running around the farm a lot. He said his dad rarely yelled at him much if he was outside with his dog because the dog would stand between them and growl. But only when his dad was in a mood, otherwise they got along just fine.

Too funny!

Dogs are great. There are times I've been walking our male (German shepherd, Malamute, and Gray Wolf) and someone has stopped to talk to me.
Everything is fine unless they take a step or two towards me.... the dog lets them know "That's close enough!". He has never had to repeat himself.

Re: Don't yell at the dog

I had a Black Lab Female that would Growl at me if I tried to pop my youngest daughter on the rear! It got so bad I would have to put the dog in the house to correct her, she also would get between her and the street when she was playing outside.

That's funny! I love dogs. I imagine the title could have said, "Yell at the dog", for many

Re: Don't yell at the dog

This Clay, for 7 years he would bite my me not too hard every time that I would try to get up from the couch. I guess I was the only man he liked. His first owner beat him daily with a stick and since then he hated men. I got lucky and won him over.
