I’ve had my Dads Jag for about a week. Did quite a bit of work on it.
1) reupholstered the headliner
2) repaired the door panel that had the corner broken
3) did some leather crack repair on the seats
4) detailed the entire interior

Here are the pics for the seat repair. The first 2 pics show the condition that the seats were in. There was a really bad wear spot on the drivers seat back area, as you slide into the seat. All the seats were repaired with Leather Crack Filler and then dyed. I also used a Leather Rejuvenator after the dye process, and when the dye was completely dry.
The last 3 pics are AFTER pics.

Wow!!!! That all looks GREAT! To think that I’m chicken about pulling the headliner out of mine is kinda ridiculous after imagining what was involved in pulling the Jag one.

I’m really hoping to get Big Red out more, maybe hit a few local car shows. I’m finally getting caught up with a lot of stuff that has been needing & taking most of my time. One, was the grass. I not only mow mine, but several of my neighbors. And with all the non-stop rain we have been having the last several months, it’s been a challenge.

It really wasn’t that bad, my Dad helped. He was pretty nervous about having to fold the headliner, to get it in & out. Especially putting it back in, after the new upholstery. The color was not an 100% with the sunroof, visors and roof console. But there is a lot of 2 tone colors in the car, so Dad opted to leave it as is. He liked the 2 tone look, it goes along with the rest of the interior.
Our truck headliners are a breeze, compared to doing a car. Cleaning the old foam off, is really most of the work.

Another little project I did for my Dad’s Jag, was his center console. His was broke and the PO had glued the cup holder lid shut. I found him a perfect condition one, in a salvage yard. Only problem, it was the wrong color. So it got re-dyed. It turn out great! The last photo, is with the re-dyed console installed. The damaged console is laying on the seat.

Thank You Rick!! It was my 1st time working with cracked leather. I was truly amazed at how this stuff worked. I only found it, because of looking at the place where I got the dye. This Leather Dye company, had the color, that matched his interior color. But they also have this cream for the crack repair. It all comes in a kit. Watched a few videos and gave it a whirl. And here I have been turning people away, with my Detailing that I do. I have had several people ask about doing Seat repairs, and I wasn’t sure how to fix that, know I do!

Last night was my towns local Car Show, Bellefontaine’s Hot Summer Nights. My brother came up also, so we parked together. We didn’t participate in the parade, which all the cars in the show drive into town from the fairgrounds, where they all line up. Some of us just come into town and parked. The parade took almost an hour. I did the parade once, and Big Red didn’t like it at all. It’s too slow moving, and your just sitting in slow moving traffic. And it’s only 2 blocks from the fairgrounds into downtown. Biggest show yet for Bellefontaine, 354 total vehicles! We had fun, got to see a lot of the people I used to work with, at Honda.
I’m the one with the Chevrolet shirt. My girlfriend is next to me. On the end, is one of my best friends from work, she came out to sit with us.

I wanted my Dad to put his 96 Jaguar in the show too, you know, have a family affair of it. But couldn’t talk Mom into it, she’s so jealous of his car
They did come up and stay the night before, Dad & I got the Jag all cleaned up, just in case she would change her mind. I should have taken a photo after we got her all spiffied up. This photo is right after he bought it, while they were still Florida. It looked good, he probably would have won a trophy.

Spent today dyeing some interior parts, the headliner trim and visors. Charcoal is the color.
Also did some Burgundy seat garnishes.

Well it’s official, I sold my bench seat and Door Panels to a buddy of mine. He just bought an 87 and he’s freshening up the interior. I also found him a pretty decent dash pad in Michigan. I went up and got it for him, and also brought home a couple of seat cores. The dash pad only had a few cracks on the ends, and I got those filled for him. All he had to do is freshen it up with dye. It’s charcoal and that’s the color he needed.

So since my seat and Door Panels are sold, it’s time to get busy on building myself a restored bench seat.

It took about 4 yrs to find myself OEM Charcoal seatbelts. So I spent a day cleaning them up and freshening the plastic up with dye. So out with the aftermarket belts, and I’ll be installing these.

My new Charcoal Cover is ready. Getting the frame ready. Seat back has been sandblasted and repainted. The seat bottom frame, I’m going to use a New Grid and all new springs.

Working on my seat today. Frames restored, with the new grid & springs. I’m using an original foam. I found an excellent condition foam in my stash! I was going to use a new foam, but since I have this one, I’ll use it. Almost ready for the cover!!

Well the seat and door panels are gone. I still need to remove the seat belts. I also have the lower door panel carpet out. I have new chrome strips to add to the top of those. Also going to dye the vents, charcoal. Big Red is in the garage for the winter, so it’s time to get started.

Where can you get the chrome from?? I want to add the carpet to my doors.

Damn them seats look great! You should design your own “buildsheet” for them and stuff em halfway inside the foam between that and the grid!

USA1 Industries or LMC. I have an extra set, if I don’t screw up the 1st set, I can sell you the other set.

That is an awesome idea!

Got the aftermarket belts out, and started putting the OEM belts in.
