Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Yep. Based on how big the dent was, probably an "aftermarket" car anyways

Re: Poor Camaro

Back in the day...around 1968...There was drag racing by the waterfront in my town...& along the water front there was elevated R/R tracks with huge stone pillars...There was a guy that had a 66 Dodge Coronet 500 - 383 A/T turquoise with a black vinyl top & magnum 500 wheels...The car was absolutely stunning. He was hitting the bottle all night long & the more he drank the worse he hammered the car. Before the night end, he hit that granite stone abutment at about 40 MPH...he was able to back up & continue beating that car to death until it stopped running.....That incident made such an impression on me I will never for get it.....I remember it like it was yesterday..............

Re: Poor Camaro

I don't do burnouts. They make no sense. I don't own vehicles to impress anyone but myself. I don't build things to thrash them.

EDIT: I found this video I had stumbled on a while back. Check out starting at 2:40

He had the baddest car there. Time to build another one.

Re: Poor Camaro

Here is a burnout I did back in the day (late 70's). I was getting some new Radial TA's and thought it would be fun to get a burnout picture on the old crappy tires. We did it on a back street with no one around. After I got the new tires I never did another burn out because tires are freaking expensive.

Never understood the mentality of doing what this Camaro guy did. Just too doggone dangerous with all those people … and cell phone cameras haha. What a maroon

Talking Re: Poor Camaro

I'm gonna say it, I have never done a burnout in a vehicle never in my life. I can't see the good in it. I have always had to buy my own tires. My first car had recaps on it for over a year before I could afford new tires. I never have even tried doing a burnout!
There I said it man I feel better.

If you want to see pure stupidity go on Youtube & search middle eastern or Saudi 'Drift' - You gotta see the crowds on the side of the road and the out of control cars coming at them......Some actually get hit by the cars....

Re: Poor Camaro

I too have never done a Burnout , too cheap to do so as tires cost too much . Back in my teens I had a Bandit T/A that I was getting new tires for the next day and I did a few Donuts that night .

Re: Poor Camaro

I did a long smokey burnout in front of my High School on graduation day as my last act of defiance, what were they gonna do take away my diploma? I’ve done a couple since then when I’m about to get new tires but never to show off. Maybe to friends on a no traffic street but definitely not strangers.

Leaving a car show is the worst time to do a burnout though. Unless you want the cops to get you or become internet famous when you fail. Plus the venue generally doesn’t like those kinds of shenanigans which can lead to the car show getting shut down. When leaving a show, give it enough beans for the engine to be heard but not enough to spin the tires, let off sometime early 2nd gear. Cops won’t bother you, you remain in control and the drones with their phones out will still respect you for getting on it.

Re: Poor Camaro

My first cars couldn't do a burn out anyways ..6 cylinders , no horses and the only thing I could get was a lonely screech on slick tar road and that was if no one was talking loud.

Hop in with me and take a ride, then tell me if it was boring. I'm not stupid is all. I let those spinnin' wheels get me on up the road. I was raised to not be wasteful and taught if you take good care of your things they will take good care of you.

Re: Poor Camaro

I've done my fair share of one-wheel peels in my time, however, I don't think I've ever "roasted" a tire to where there's a plume of smoke behind me. Usually just enough to leave it's mark, maybe even a 2nd gear scratch. I don't really own anything with enough power to be worth putting a posi in.

My C10 is tricky in the rain, no weight in the ass, a 3.73 and low 1st gear 700R and it does not like to take off at a stop light in rain. I have to take my foot off the brake and let it roll, if I give it any input at all the right rear will just spin.
