Re: Big block 1967 c10 panel

SHould be able to use any 68-72 header. 68 was first year for a big block in a pickup, not sure of a suburban/panel chassis, though, but shouldn't matter on the engine compartment.
You do know that the top of the frame is wider on 67 frames? About half of the top has to be cut back to clear big block headers or manifolds...there's info here, not exactly sure how to search for it.
I have some pictures someone made if you need...

Re: Big block 1967 c10 panel

.

The Hedman Chevelle longtube 68198 fit my BBC equipped '67 nicely and are very show and go shiny!

Potential problem areas with these are:

clam shell engine stands may need clearance
auto tranny linkage and/or tranny mount

My install didn't experience any of this ( 700r w/ lokar cable driven linkage, stock BBC stands ) but did need a dimple on one tube at rear lower passenger control arm bushing.

Re: Big block 1967 c10 panel

My good friend helped his son install an LS in a 67 C-10. Son got antsy about how close the headers were to the frame. His Dad is capable of ALL things mechanical. Dad made some nify notches in the frame, EXACTLY where the tubes run. Looks cool, like the factory made them, no pictures, though, right now...

Fat, You do know that you may be able to get your old headers coated? It would save having to modify your exhause system to fit the new headers...
