Anybody add door pockets??

New member, I’ve had a 71 C20 Custom Deluxe for about a year, It makes for a nice daily driver, 350/350 with Eaton 4.56 rear end. I’ve added the gntx mirror with home link, and the weggie cup holder. I love seeing all the improvements you folks have done. I’m also a wanting to change bench seat out for buckets, but that can wait, Oh and added the f150 side mirrors, Those make for nice good rear viewing.

For now I was wondering if anybody here has added door pockets to their truck. I’m always carrying a coupe rags, misc, flashlight. Etc and would love to add door pockets to carry extra stuff.. pictures?
I’ve searched for older posts but didn’t have any luck, just seems to me would be handy for daily drivers. If you have what were they off of, or were did you get them? Thanks in advance!!

Only issue with the truck is the 4.56 Eaton, Probably only get about 8-10 mpg.

Hello, welcome.
I have also thought of this mod but never seem to remember it when I'm at the junkyard. I guess i will have to start making notes before I go!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Anybody add door pockets??

I've never seen anyone here put pockets into their doors. Heck, most start crying when they see speakers cut in... which is the best place for them.

Funny, I was thinking about pockets, I think I saw them on the square bodies??

As for speakers, if my truck came with door speakers I would likely have been happy but I cannot bring myself into cutting into my perfect doors LOL

Thumbs up Re: Anybody add door pockets??

Back many years ago I added door speaker. They have now been removed and replaced with the rear corner speaker plates and I had door panels made for the doors to cover everything up.

The link says sold out! $249.00 for the set. I will look in the yard and see what I can find. Those wouldn't look right in mine no way!

Re: Anybody add door pockets??

Some (all?) of the square bodies have vinyl pockets. If your not opposed to drilling some holes, you could have and upholstery shop make you a few with grommets around the sides and lower edge for screws. OR buy some aftermarket ones and fit to suite...

I would think you could take part of a lower door, and make one, that look factory.
If I didn't have speakers in my doors. I'd make something like '82-92 firebird glove box/pockets.. and liquid nail glue them to the door. If I was worried about holes, but holes can be filled. so door card push christmas tree's would be used

Or Chevy conversion van, door pouches.

Re: Anybody add door pockets??

These might work. They are for a VW van. This company is English, not sure if they have a US source.
