Hole in block below fuel pump, normal?

I was in the process of putting a bolt in the upper motor mount hole in front of the fuel pump. My engine builder didn't install this bolt and I've been getting some oil leaking at highway speeds.

So as I'm under the truck, I notice a dimple that is cast into the block for what I presumed was for a locating pin for the front motor mounts. The problem is that the casting has worn away and now there is a hole in this dimple. Does anyone know if this is connected to the fuel pump cavity? Would it cause oil to leak?

Its an index hole for the machining process to locate the raw casting in a mill or bore machine. It should be a blind hole

The little short bolt in the front threaded hole will fix your oil leak. Make sure and use a real short bolt. Too long and it will pass through and interfere with your fuel pump push rod. You do not want that.

That other hole that you posted the picture of is just a blind cavity like dwcsr said. Nothing to worry about there.
