What to salvage?

I picked up this rig and I have no title,I'm going to salvage what I think is important and the rest is scrap. I know to pick the obvious parts but how far does one go?I already have too much . has a great window frame and firewall and the frame looks good, the beds been cut for parts and the mid section is gone.

Re: What to salvage?

If that is an original fuel tank under there it could be worth something. Not sure if anything has changed in recent years but the original tanks were larger than the repops by about four gallons.

The front knuckles, disc brake backing plates, and outer stub shafts are specific to 71-72.

Re: What to salvage?

Some guys out there have enough time and talent, and of course money, where they would put in front and rear floor pans ect, to where they would actually have a K5 again, better than being recycled overseas, guess it depends how hungry one is,

Re: What to salvage?

Bucket seat bracket under the floor
Gas tank filler hole - truck guys use it to relocate tank
Rear taillight sections
Sell floor patches
If single wall top, cage nuts under top lip

I don't scrap much but sometimes I have to hold onto it for a while before it sells, lol

Re: What to salvage?

I would save the 72 only rear sheet metal at the end of the bed (where it is notched for the frame) - somebody may need that part for their build.

Good call on the single wall top cage nuts in the top of the besides
