Both mufflers and tubing are fabricated from aluminized steel for corrosion resistance.

I once put some $10 ones on my truck. They sounded pretty good....acutally very good. Just about everyone who heard them thought I spent a fortune on them. They only lasted a couple years but hey for $10 bucks I coudnt complain.

My 2 cents, do some calling around to exhaust shops around you. Not Midas or lowly joints like that, but actual custom exhaust shops. they'll listen to what you're after and recommend a muffler for you. I work at a shop and do custom exhaust bending and form what it sounds like, a Rhino muffler, made by IPC, is the thing for you. We also carry a muffler called a Flo-Pro that has a very similar sound to the Slowmaster, but seems like a much tougher build. Instead of the stupid "V" channels inside, it is pretty much open with the inlet and outlet tubs extending past halfway inside with scoops inside. Great sounding muffler. Had them on my '69 Stepside and lved them. I've still got the system in the shed, the only reason I took them off was when I put my 440 hp engine in, I went with a full 3" duals setup. So check with a local Exhaust shop, they'll give you a recommendation and probably even sell you the muffler you need, for quite a bit cheaper than the flowmaster. the Rhino from us runs about $40 for your S-10 and the Flo-Pro about $55-60. So the cost is a major difference.

Between the normal financial things...and my mother in law possably on her death bed, (involving a road trip tp New Orleans) I can't afford jack right now.

i run Dynomax ultra-flow welded mufflers and the are WAY louder than my old 40s flowmasters. these mufflers are VERY aggresive.

Wow, thanks Piston...I keep tellin everyone I know that this board is FULL of awsome ppl!
On the mother in law thing, turns out it may well be a false alarm. My father in law is a crack head, (no joke...big time user) and as soon as the DR said it might be time for araingements...he hears "blah blah blah Make araingements."
Damn crack head....I've hated the b@stard for 11 years now, and will for the rest of his life.
Granted, she is sick and on a dialisis machine now, but not on her death bed.
