My Bagged V8 S10

Back in the 90's I had a squarebody s10. It was lowered with Trans Am wheels and low profiles with a static drop. I had always wanted to do more to it and really wanted to do a tilt bed. As time went by and life happened, I got married had a few kid's and got into Trans Am's and VW bugs. I'm now missing my S10 and decided to buy another one. This time a newer one.

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

I got this s10 pretty cheap due to it needing another motor. The motor threw a rod through the block. I decided to change it over to a 350 with a 400 trans since i have one already. Who wouldnt want a 350 in a s10?

Had a couple friends over to help pull the 2.2. It took an afternoon. No big deal.

It had air shocks and monoleafs. Air valves to raise and lower it.

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

We were able to get alot done last weekend. We still need to work on getting the tilt bed to work. We have a plan. Maybe I'll have an update the weekend to share.

TILT BED finally... after all these years of wanting one!

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

There is a S10 Forum, we don't have a lot of action in it but your truck would be a good addition! I had a 327 in my 92 and replaced it with a 5.3 it takes a while to get used to the lack of traction.

Ok,that's a good idea. I'll ask an admin to move the thread. It bet that 5.3 was a blast!

It still is, I use my S10 as a DD and cruising truck. I get 20+ mpg's and can spin the 275's at will. The truck in my avatar is my wife's 64. I like what you've done and I'm looking forward to your build. Ray

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

Here is the only update I have at the time. I have been working on the engine and transmission and hope to have them set in the truck this coming week...

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

Do you know if your going to use shorties or long tube headers? I have a set of shorties that are wrapped I'd sell cheap. The steering shaft went between the tubes and fit pretty good.

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

Sorry I spoke up. I had a young man come down to look at my truck because he was building a V8 S10 and he took them home. I let him have them with the collectors for $50.00.

Re: My Bagged V8 S10

Need updates . On your progress man. I would like to see how it turned out.

I was doing the same thing with a 95 ext cab. However I want a 60 model c10 so the dime project has the brakes on.
