Re: LS swap for my 75

Super 44's are relatively small iirc, maybe 14 or 16" case. I'll check it against mine in the morning. First guess is the mid-pipes were cut a bit short but we'll see.

Re: LS swap for my 75

I dunno why they put them there, I had to look to verify but there's plenty of room to keep them away from the xfer case. Here's mine for reference and it has 14" mufflers.

Re: LS swap for my 75

It's hard to say, it might run till the end of time with no issues. Here's how I'd approach it. If it adds heat to the xfer case right there the tailshaft seal will take the brunt of it and if that fails you've got the possibility of transmission fluid getting on the mufflers. Now you're up to potential fire hazard/burning your truck down etc. I would want them to move the mufflers back. Is this a shop you've used before?

Re: LS swap for my 75

I've used this shop before there pretty reputable. I called them this morning he said because the flowmaster is a high flowing muffler it doesn't trap much heat and it would be ok. so I guess i'll roll the dice and see what happens LOL

Re: LS swap for my 75

You'll probably be fine, just check that seal when you're under it.

Re: LS swap for my 75

when I first fired her up I wasn't happy with the exhaust. sounded to weak but after running for about 15 minutes the sound changed. going to try to make time in the next few days to get the other stuff fixed. after that I'm going to satin black the whole truck just to match the old new fenders I put up front

Re: LS swap for my 75

for awhile there I was saying I should have just kept the 350 screw this LS swap crap. well I would like to retract my previous statement LOL I finally got to drive her yesterday and I gotta say the power is amazing. wow its a huge difference night and day. I have a few bugs to work out but I'm pretty happy so far. I'm going to start looking into a code reader just in case cause I pretty sure i'll be doing another soon

Not happy with the exhaust not as loud and aggressive as it was with the 350. Running flowmasters with 2 1/2 pipe

Re: LS swap for my 75

that's what the cops said one or two neighbors agreed to that but the others didn't feel the same way. the lady is a single parent and she adopted like 4 kids. I feel bad for the kid but at the same time he did cost me a pretty big chunk of change for 2 big tires plus my wife thinks we should move because of them.

Re: LS swap for my 75

If the spring was soft wouldn't that mean it would've acted like a much cooler stat? Just wondering.

Re: LS swap for my 75

I was thinking the same thing but I know these LS motors run hot so maybe it's not letting the coolant cool off I don't know I'm hoping that's it

I tried to see but couldn't tell. What does your cooling fan setup look like?

Re: LS swap for my 75

I have 2 electric fans that kick on at 190. originally one was kicking on at 190 but the other was not working right I assumed it was because I had him set it up to go on when I turned the AC on but I haven't put the AC in it yet. so I ran the wire to the fan 1 wire. my buddy said its not a good idea to run both fans at once it would take away from the air flow

Not a good idea to run both e-fans together? Never heard that before. I promise that is what you want to do. Move the most air possible. Also, not all fans are created equal. I don't look at CFM ratings. I look at how many amps the motor is. That will tell you way more. SPAL and Cooling Components are a couple brands that make quality fans.

Re: LS swap for my 75

took advantage of this hot day and took the blazer out for a 30 minute drive on the freeway and slow traffic. the highest it went was 223 for maybe a minute then drop down to 220. I'm only running one fan right now. I need to find someone to program my secondary fan or see whats up with it. it not keeping a constant signal it will just sorta sputter the signal so maybe it was the thermostat
