how to wire 12 volt ignition with stomp starter 1953 chevy truck
Is resistor needed for 12 volt system with points and using the stomp starter ?

I'm not real sure but I would say yes. The resistor wire wasn't stopped being used until the GM HEI was put in vehicles.

Yes. A resister is needed. You can use the switch that goes on top of the for 55-59 models. It has a term. on the side that bypasses the resister while the starter is cranking.
