Re: Bad Temper

I have a terrible temper and anger problem... I realized it only hurts the ones I care the most about. I dont want my children and wife to see me fighting and blowing my top... Im trying hard to kick it ! Age is helping some but it would take 100 years and id like to kick it before im dead !! So Im trying some alternative methods like buying 67-72 chevys.. 😁

Re: Bad Temper

I had a horribly hot temper as a kid and a young man. I learned it watching my parents. If anybody jacked with me, it was on! It didn't help that I didn't finish growing until I was 20, so I was small going through school. Patronizing bars didn't help. I haven't gone into a bar that didn't have a restaurant in over 30 years. It isn't me it's the drunks that can't keep their yaps shut and their fists in their pockets. Last time I lost my temper bad though was when I was putting a V8 into my son's Dart with the blown up /6. I named that Dart "Christine", because EVERY time I worked on it, I bled. I lost my temper that time and haven't found it since!

Re: Bad Temper

I am ashamed to say my wife quit coming out to the shop when I was working on something. I'd get aggrivated and chunk a tool or something. I'm not proud of it. Just last night I was putting together a new tool box and ran across some irritation right off. I hammered some. Lost some blood.. Wife came out to see about me. Heard the hammering over in the house. Awwww. The box was assembled new with mangled up drawer locking mechanism. Only two of the eight drawers would open. Thank goodness though. By removing those two I was able to finagle the others open to give me access to what was wrong. Then I got pissed over some sumbich putting that crap in that brand new tool chest. It didn't happen in transit. My first thought was to load that thing up and haul it back to them for an exchange. Then I considered how heavy that thing was unloading it and didn't want to try to push it back into the truck so I decided to fix this one. I body worked the lock mechanism and got it working satisfactorily and finished putting it together. Then the top box was so heavy I couldn't lift it high enough to put it on the cabinet. I used a comealong hanging from a rafter for that. But I WON!!!

Re: Bad Temper

I'll get pissed out in the shop when things don't go right, but have learned being 61 years old to turn the f--king light off, close the gd door then leave and go back out there another day. Its always better to face an old problem the next day, it keeps the insanity healthy.

This is what I have been doing for last five years or so. Have saved a ton of money on the light bill

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

Re: Bad Temper

Funny thing with getting frustrated or angry with a project. I can't count how many times something was just not going together and I walked away. Then when I return to the project only to realize I had forgotten something and it was telling me, "hey stupid" you forgot something!

Re: Bad Temper

I have been blessed with a lot of patience, I am slow to anger and on that rare occasion I cool off quickly.
My younger brother on the other hand has always been a hot head, lots of fights when he was young. He was nearly fired from his job for shoving another guy up against the wall in their office. He had to go to anger management class!
I always try to see the good in other people, and treat others like I want to be treated.

Greg

Re: Bad Temper

My temper is not really an issue for me , Im pretty laid back mostly . I do get angry when I put too much trust in a friend and they let me down , But mostly blame myself for being so Trusting . I eventually get over it and forgive us both .
