Re: Exciting News!! Blast From The Past!!!

I'm not targetting you or anyone in particular but have always wonderd why people use PhotoBucket or other photo storage sites for their pictures. Why not just keep them on the hard drive in yoir computer. If your scared to lose them store a copy of them on a backup external harddrive or thumbdrive..

I have lost pictures to crashed computers before. And thumb drives also get lost. But these websites are necessary to post pictures on these forum websites so as not to clog them up, and that is where I keep mine.

Re: Exciting News!! Blast From The Past!!!

I have been looking for a set of turbine wheels for this truck for some time now. Decided to sell the six lug Rally wheels set that I originally bought for it years ago. I bought these off of a friend / supplier of mine that is constantly buying old vehicles and reselling them. He took these wheels off of a 72 Blazer that he bought that he had stripped down to almost nothing, then he turned around and sold the frame and the body to someone else. He had no idea I was looking for these type of wheels he only mentioned them in passing. My curiosity got the better of me and I asked what kind they were since I had never discussed turbine wheels with him. What a lucky day! Now I just need to figure out how to get this chipped paint off of it and polish the aluminum. Anyone know what type of lugs and washers this thing requires?

Re: Exciting News!! Blast From The Past!!!

My own invention...
An aluminum license plate bracket that saves me from drilling holes into the bumper! And the plate cannot get bent like it would if it were attached to only the bumper. It attaches to the trailer hitch bolt.

Can anyone show me what kind of center caps these use? And lug nuts?

P/S hoses replaced

I had to have my P/S hoses replaced today in the 68 C10 stepside. They were GUSHING fluid everywhere. I also had the gear box re-gasketed a few months back. Hope this ends the fluid leak, because fluid leaks are one of my biggest pissers. I am, not sure where they found the new P/S hoses, but I thought I heard someone in the shop say, "Omega".

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

*SIGH* If it is not ONE thing...

The heater box in my 68 stepside did what they all eventually do when you try to change the temperature in the truck. It separated from the faceplate, and the levers were all broken. I rebuilt it with a kit, drilled holes for faceplate retention screws months ago, and reassembled it, but only today did I get around to re-installing it. And then I discovered that the old heater cables are so TIGHT that they do not want to budge. I am not going to (again) go through tight cables when I want to use the heat in this truck that break my levers. So I had to order new ones from Classic Parts. It is always SOMETHING...

Re: Exciting News!! Blast From The Past!!!

I accidentally ordered the heater cables that are for A/C trucks (mine is heater only). Looks like I will have to use them, since the only difference I can see is that one seems longer than the non-A/C ones.

I have a couple of old cables if you want them. They all slide good also.

*SIGH* If it is not ONE thing... Part 2

Well I ordered the new factory-correct heater core from one of the businesses that was mentioned to me on here. And for some reason IT LEAKS!!!!!
I hooked it up, started the truck, and DRIP! DRIP! DRIP!
I ordered another one form them, and will be returning the leaky one for a refund. Updates to come...
