SWB always has been and always will be more desireable.

I have actually been looking at this one http://slo.craigslist.org/ctd/2057379851.html so I could have one of each. It has so much rust I'm not sure it is worth the $1500.

Well it sucks to be you because there are some dang nice long bed trucks out there. And I own a very long long box, so get over it.

It seems a lot of people are haters. I just want one of each because I like them all, and surely can't afford 3 or 6 of this body style right now.
It sucks to be me because I don't like something that YOU think is cool.??
boy thats makes tons of sense,,, I have seen the light!!!

I'm not being a" hater", I just have no desire at all to ever own a lwb, They are seriously disproportional, and just look plain dumb....sorry longbed owners. Thats my opinion, like I said to each his own, that's what makes the world go round!!

Well im not saying theres NO LONGBED drag trucks. Im just saying, you go to the local drag way. What are you most LIKELY to see, a short bed drag truck, or a long bed drag truck. The way we are arguing about long beds and short beds is funny There both cool, both can haul You can drag, drop, jack, burnout, wheelie, you name it you can do in a long bed or a short bed. It matters what YOU like, everybody on the forum does NOT have to like your truck.

Re: All you SWB guys are killing me...............

Now, now fellas.....we all know that size does matter when getting the job done. While shortbeds are "cute"...like Chevy Luvs and what-not, they simply can't compete when it counts.

Really, is there anything sadder than a classic case of envy concerning length?

It's ok...y'all shortbed guys keep telling yourself us longbed lovers wanna be jes' like you. We'll let you convince yourself that this truly is the case if it makes you feel better. It's jes' like havin' a li'l brother....where ya gotta assure him he's jes' as strong as you are, even though he's clearly built on a smaller frame.

I believe that a shortbeds desireability comes from its uniqueness, in that not enough people ever wanted them to ever make them in large numbers. You know, like Edsels and AMC Pacers. I liken the fad to that of the Mini- Pinschers.... looking like a version of a more powerful dog, only smaller. SWB trucks look almost like a truck....only smaller.

Don't get me wrong....SWB trucks are adorable. I like that thing that looks like a truck bed right behind the cab.....reminds me so much of an El Camino.
Why...it must hold at least 3, maybe 4 suitcases?: It was the soccer-mom weekend truck before they invented soccer moms.

My granny used to have one to haul her groceries. I believe she got 6 or 7 bags back there.

LOL.....there's some funny stuff in there.

Quite frankly the only thing that matters to me right now is:

The Ducks are playing for the BCS Championship Jan 10th!!!!!!

Sorry if your team was one of the ones we crushed!!!!

Except when it comes to magazine coverage, truck show trophies, and resale value.

Why, I gotta a 3 legged duck that gets a lotta magazine coverage, a 2 headed goose that won "best in show" in the two headed goose category and a midget Great Dane that I've been offered a lot of money for.

I attribute it to the curiosity factor.....
People pay good money for odd things.

Ever seen a Bonsai tree? It's like a tree....almost. Try doin' anything with it though besides lookin' at it and you'll realize you wouldn't want a forest of them, that's why you don't see a bunch of them. Sorta like SWB trucks.

These analogies make no sense at all.

Prolly not.... I was jes' goin' for a quick laugh. I've owned 'em all, SWB, LWB, stepside and fleetside. I've slammed 'em and jacked 'em up. While I prefer a LWB fleet, I can understand the appeal of ALL of the vintage Chevy family.

I'm jes' gonna hang onto my non lowered LWB fleet and if I wait long enough, enough people may chop theirs into slammed SWB trucks to make MINE the one you don't see very often.

Sounds like a plan!

I like SWB trucks that are lowered, and LWB trucks that are lifted....heck I like all vintage Chevys too!

Re: All you SWB guys are killing me...............

I was jes' trying to point out that magazine coverage, trophies, and resale value don't necessarily indicate much. Not in a society where Octo-Mom and other no talents have loads of mag covers, where the Teutles are thought of as 'master bike builders', and a potato chip in the shape of the Virgin Mary sells for a ridiculous price.

Odd and better don't always go hand in hand.

Good points....always nice to have a good laugh too. The Teutles are 'master bike assemblers'

Re: All you SWB guys are killing me...............

I'm with y'all...I always love pokin' a SWB guy when I get a chance, but I suppose that leaves me open to a good ribbing from the Longhorn guys.

Anyone know the rough sales figures of SWB vs. LWB from 67-72?

I'd reckon it was 30% to 70% if I hadta guess off the top of my head.
