Re: "Peep Mirrors" Whose got'em

I just got mine today after reading this post a week ago. I understand how they fit onto the door's knife edge, but where is the most visible place to put them, and how would you adjust them to fit there? I understand the adjusting screws and what they do, but is it better to put them on the top of the door parallel to the ground, or on the front of the door nearest the wing window? I am not able to get any help so this is a one man job.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience, well......that comes from bad judgment.

Re: "Peep Mirrors"

I know people have looked at the post since I posted this, but no response. Am I not asking the question right, or do people just not want to help me out? Is it that I should have used the search first? Tried it and it doesn't work.

When I originally replied to this post, I had hopes and dreams that my truck would be back on the road for the '08 Hot Rod Power Tour....

.....it wasn't and it still sucks that it ain't anywhere near roadable.

As to where to mount them, my first thought was on top of the door so they would hang down. To me, that's a better look and more in keeping with the Hot Rod look that my damaged brain want to emulate. Is this what you want to hear? I had thought about putting them at the front of the vent wings, clamped to the door, but I don't know if my mirrors are adjustable enough to accomodate that mounting.

Re: "Peep Mirrors" Whose got'em

loosly install them where you think you want them, then sit in the truck parked on the curb and see if you can use it.
If you don't like it there, then move it.
No one knows what kind you have, no one knows how you use your mirrors.
no one can honestly attempt to answer your question.
it's rather simple. Get in, sit down, look out the window.

Re: "Peep Mirrors" Whose got'em

I used a retangular peep. First started at the top. Couldn't adjust it except to see something other than what I wanted. Moved them to the lower vent. Better but still worthless. Just barely can see close to where I need to.

Re: "Peep Mirrors" Whose got'em

I had to mount them on the forward part of the door near the top corner as the top of the door was to close to the rain gutter.... the passenger side is useless (just there for balance)

Re: "Peep Mirrors" Whose got'em

On the passenger side, I got a stick-on mirror the same diameter as the peep mirror and attached it. It was one of those "wide-angle" mirrors and I thought it would help on the interstate. Nope. Didn't matter. The one your head is closest to is better than the one on the other door. But, they look good, huh?
