Here is an old 78 I dragged out of a junkyard the other day. It was silver and green. Kind of an odd color combo.

My Grandpa sent my 16 year old (at the time) uncle down to the dealership to order a new work truck late in 1976. He picked those colors on a 77 GMC Sierra Classic. 454, TH400, wood bed, pw, pdl, cruise, AC, tilt, tach, dark green interior, factory CB etc. I drove it for about 5 summers when I was in high school and college when I would head to Portland and work for my other uncle who ended up with it. That's what really got me started into these trucks.

I plan to build my 86 SWB in those colors.

Don't think I've ever seen a 'burb in a crate...er...with woodgrain sides. Different for sure and I agree, I'd roll in it!

I agree! That burb would be very nice, especially with a 454.

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

Here most of the old 4x4's have been hauled away for scrap. This truck was gonna be scrapped also, but I was able to buy it before it happened. Most trucks are non-existant in salvage yards here, especially any square.
This truck is a 350/th350/203. I will get it running again hopefully.

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

Here's mine. Thinking of going with a ferarri black (Nero daytona) in the black area, and maybe some kind of silver effect from a newer GM. That or possibly carbon flash metallic to give the truck a two tone black look, if that makes any sense.

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

Then again, the black on black would be a detailing nightmare. Not sure if I want to commit 30 hours a month to keeping my DD presentable. lol.

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

Here's my 79. I wore out the internet finding a round eye, crew, big block, dually 4x4. But after just about 2 years of looking I found my little gem. It was a bit rough but 4 months in my little shop and the 'sex machine' is on the road!
