Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

I have several to choose from. What style/profile hangers are you looking for? All 4 or just the rear of the rear?

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

You might wanna ask specifically for K10-k20, C30, or k30

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

Really not sure on all the differences. It seems like the 73-87 spring hangers hang lower off the frame allowing slightly more lift. Currently I have a set of 63'' springs with 5'' of lift. I am going to want an additional 5+ '' so my thought was using the brackets that hang lower? Not sure all this is making sense. The current set on my frame would work just figured a newer model set might gain me some additional lift.

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

Differences in the length the hangers hang away from the frame to line up the springs. C30 are shorter than k30 but hang off the frame narrower than that of the k10 and k20. I put squarebody k20 hangers on mine, which made it level, but I just have a 3/4 ton rear out of a square body that lines up for mock up. I may change out to K30 hangers yet. 67-72 Hangers hang the same distance away from the frame as c30-k30’s. All of this was trial and error. Honestly, I think you could make the factory Duramax hanger work fine in your application.

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

measure the center to center of the leaf pad mounting on your axle now .

42.5 = k5-c/k10-ck20

40.5 = c/k 30

other wise you will be moving and welding perches on the current axle .

what year frame now are you using ? whats the axle from ? this has the most importance over the springs as they will fit any of these hangers . its the spacing of the hanger that makes the choice .

as said c-lower hangers and k- taller by 3" on the hangers . for the front hanger of the rear springs only .

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

i forgot you can do a home brew flip kit with a extra set of front hangers like i did here . these were 2wd short hangers and 6" long shackles for 2.5-3" lift height in the rear of my last build .

found the height i wanted then cut off extra and welded a chunk of angle on the bottom to catch the bottom lip of the frame and 4 bolts per side and 2 in the bottom just like oem rear hanger .

SweetK30 - Any issues with "sway" in the rear end with reverse shackles? Any load carry capacity reduction? Does it require a Track Bar ?

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

Frame is a C-30 with 40.5'' perch spacing

So I think what you are saying is I would need K30 brackets - they would be longer than the c-30 ones that I have correct??

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

yes 1 ton brackets .

yes 3" taller for the front hanger / bracket only . the rear stays the same .

no real difference i have noticed . i use to run a 4" offroad design flip kit on my old truck and when i scrapped it and built this one to replace it i went less lift for more of a work truck .

i have the 4" flip kit brackets i would sell . there a bit rusty from upstate new york salt belt life . but still super solid and i would use them again if i had to . i will also check i might have a set of k30 front hangers .

I have OEM 1 ton 4x4 rear spring front hangers from 87 V3500 dually dump, fronts only. KrazyRay may have full set or rears. Your frame rails measure 34" outside?

GonicGM - yes the frame is 34'' out to out and the spring hangers are 3'' to the center past edge of frame. Any pics of the 87 front hangers?

Not to try and jack your thread but if you don’t get these fronts I’d be interested. Making my own thread but while searching I came across yours go figure we are doing something so similar.

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

Wanted to let you in on where I am with my search. I found some and will be picking them up this weekend. From what I’ve gathered even the 1/2 and 3/4 can have the narrower 40.5 spring spacing like the 1 tons being the 67-72 4wds has the straight rails in the rear. Unconfirmed but will be able to by Sunday.

That is incorrect for 73-87, but all 67-72 4x4’s used the same hangers at 40.5.

Re: WTB - Rear Spring Hangers

Think Ill just use the ones I had. Getting a one ton set would allow me to drop the front of the spring lower getting me a little more lift but then it would kick the pinion down. Ill just use these and add a block. The springs themselves probably got me 6'' of lift - another 4-6'' block should get me level Any one have some longer ubolts.....

Here is mine with just the weight of the bare chassis. I think you’ll be pretty spotnon especially with the longer springs as they flatten out. And just in case you are still wanting to go lower on the front, you could always do a shackle flip in the rear, only downside is a softer progressive rate so it wouldn’t be so good for towing but I’ll have a set of bags also so for me it’ll be just right.
