Just a real good week Slider wise.

Found this Original Chevrolet/GMC Sliding Rear Window on a Facebook site. Guy was asking if it was anything special. Every expert was saying it was nothing and that it was aftermarket Sliding Rear Window. I , as I always do in these cases , showed him scans and photo's explaining what it was. I PM'd him with an offer and he accepted. He and his Son didn't care for it at all. His mother dies then another member of his family , so time is passing on shipping it to my KineK address in NY state. A week after my Passport/ F.A.S.T. card expires it arrives. The Customs officers allow me to cross with just my drivers license. I try to use the same crossings as much as I can for familiarity sake. Every crossing is registered. Now I'm waiting on a new rubber gasket for final install. Happy Happy Happy.
I was contemplating converting to a Panoramic View , but that would ruin the original Fawn paint on the interior panels. These Original Sliders are rare , therefore hard to find. Seen 5 since I got into these trucks in the eighties. Now two of my 63's have an Original Slider....

Oh man, thats cool Norm. Does only one side open or do they both slide to the opposite side? I have what I guess is a newer one. Looks nothing like that.

" Sliders " here in Montreal is an Anglo reference to Steamed Hot Dogs. Also know as Steamies or a " Steame " ( missing the accent over the e )You just have to ask for ' Une All Dress " ( refferes to a hot dog with mustard and sweet coleslaw/onion topping. Followed by " Une Patate " one french fry. " Poutine " if your veins can take all the fat. Dammit now I have a craving.

Re: Just a real good week Slider wise.

According to my literature, no Chevrolet or GMC Approuved Accessory slider was available. However in the Silver Book , you could order one from one of the window vendors.

Re: Just a real good week Slider wise.

Post the Panoramic View slider in the parts section in case someone would like one. I would say those are equally hard to find. Great accessory for non A/C trucks.
