Pics of my Hot Wheels toy 63c10

These are pictures of the Hot Wheels toy made after my truck. The toy is a "one off" and was made because my 63c10 was "Best Custom Truck" at SEMA 2007. I will eventually put more pictures on www.MarkBarbee.com but I am updating the site to look more professional.

Re: Pics of my Hot Wheels toy 63c10

another builder in AZ (in the hot rod hall of fame) has had several toys made after his vehicles including a couple Hot Wheels. He says what Mattel does is make you a one off then produces the toy "very similar" but changes the color or adds something. He says that way Mattel keeps their hands out of the sticky legal stuff. Even if Hot Wheels did that, I would know it is my truck, and whoever reads this thread would know too.

"Adds something" like a 62 grille instead of your 63? I miss my old 63 (see my avatar) a great old truck, my first truck. Your first truck is kinda like your first sexual experience, good, bad or indifferent, you never forget it! Lucky for me both were good!

I dont know what JUSTCUZ was saying. I could not figure it out either. The grille on the toy is the same grille on my truck.

The grille on the hotwheels truck looks more like a 62 grille in the headlight door area to me. You guys don't agree?

Re: Pics of my Hot Wheels toy 63c10

JUSTCUZ, that is definitely a 63 grille. Sorry, I dont know what else to say. Someone tried to tell me my hood was a 62 once. I had to do some research just to show him my hood started in 63. You have to remember it is a toy. They wheels are not the same either. There are some things that Mattel wont/can't do.

You better tell Mattel, they are marketing it as a 62 Custom truck on the packaging.

Personally my 63 was my favorite truck, having seen a real 62 the other day at the Brothers Show I still think the Mattel headlight doors on the toy look like a 62. The level of detail on todays die cast even at 1/64th is pretty darn good. I bet they could have made the headlight doors more perfectly round, but I think they did it on purpose so they had no liability issues.

Either way you should be proud and pleased that a replica of your truck is out there for everyone to enjoy! Congratulations!

Re: Pics of my Hot Wheels toy 63c10

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a ONE OFF toy. Mattel will NOT be producing it. If they do, it will look somewhat different. SO, THE TOY WILL NOT BE ON THE SHELVES!
Sorry to yell!
