I have a Plain Jane 350 out of a 70 burb stock motor no AC at the moment but I will later its got a 700r4 behind it not sure on the Stall... have recently changed my mind on EFI and have had good experience with Edlebrock on other builds open to suggestions and advice thanks in advance

Build it bone stock. Millions of owners haven't been disappointed. I have a Q-Jet on my truck (factory carb, believe it or not!) and it works just fine. I've rebuilt it more than once, and it still works great. If you want to go to a dual-plane manifold, that wouldn't be a bad change.

Yup, like Steve said, the simpler you keep it, the fewer problems you’ll have.
The factory didn’t mass produce problems

What Steeveedee says. An old tired stock 350 won't gain much with a fancy intake and carb IMO. I put a kit in my Q-jet back in '97 or '98 and it's been flawless ever since, although I don't use a choke here, just the fast idle cam system.

Are you just gonna daily drive it? Since you're already familiar with using Edelbrock, I would go with the Edelbrock Performer EPS intake and a 1406 carb. Good combo on a stocker. Only issue is the accessories you have to buy for the carb. Great carb once setup well

Hey there I read your post when someone saved your ass as you nearly bought EFI and decided against it. Isn’t q jet meant to be best for gas mileage? But I think the edelbrock is similar design. If it’s gas mileage your concentrating on you could buy a wide band gauge and jet it for economy on the leaner side think that’s what I’m doing with mine when it hits the road this spring

Close to what other have mentioned. My $0.02 vote is for a 2701 Edelbrock Performer EPS intake and 1901 500 cfm electric choke.
