Quick, dumb EFI Fuel Filter question

OK, I am going to run my fuel lines for my system today (hopefully). I am using FiTech EFI system with an in tank fuel pump...so I will have a return line. I have the fitech fuel filter.

I know in a conventional carb setup it is close to the carb...I can't find anything for an in-tank pump setup for the Fitech...only with an inline pump or their command center.

My question is...

Does it matter where in the fuel line it is? Do I put it close to the gas tank or in the engine bay? Or anywhere that is convenient?

I too will be running some fuel lines for an in tank pump. From what I've read, you can put it anywhere in the supply line you want. As someone said, keep it away from heat and also moving parts.

Thanks guys...Much appreciated.

I think I will tuck it on the frame under the drivers side door. Fairly easy to get to if I need to or when I have to replace it.

I ran mine for my LS from tank, inside the driver side frame rail and then across the trans crossmember, then up the trans to the motor.

So your fuel line goes from the rear down the drivers frame rail...then across the trans crossmember and up the trans to the back of the engine to the EFI?

Sounds like a good way to run it...I started mine yesterday down the drivers side frame in the engine bay and up to the EFI...

I tucked the filter in the frame right where the bed starts behind the cab...should be an easy location to get to if need be.
