Maybe you gotta fool it by laying down when taking the pics, haha.
You're making forward progress. Keep it up. Curious, without going back through the thread to check, are you swapping the distributor as well? If not check the old one for wear, proper advance curve etc. It can rob you of power and make it run poorly.

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

Well, the GMC trucks bedsides are finished.
Very pleased with how much work was put into making them better than new

As many of you recall, they were warped from the previous guys shoddy welding work

Now they’re like new and high quality

And the hood latch panel is new again

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

Recently got some rally wheels with GMC logos on them. Good news is they clear my front disc brakes

Got a rebuilt Eldelbrock 1406 carburetor that is electric choke and of course an intake

Brand new long water pump and brackets

Just ordered today a brand new IDIDIT column that has shift and also tilt

Putting another 700r4 in and mocking up for the driveshaft

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

I’m ordering a brand new power steering setup, brand new transmission linkage to the steering column. Soon to be ordering the rest of the stuff including a brand new gas pedal

This truck is going to be sweet!!!

I’ll be able to enjoy it and drive it like I’d like to with these modifications and new things

Just stuck on which gas pedal to get, and which transmission dipstick to get

My engine is a 350/700r4 set up

Just wondering if I should go with Lokar or a off brand, because i am afraid of things breaking and or leaking

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

We went ahead and ordered a brand new Eldelbrock carburetor and installed the new Eldelbrock intake and I installed a brand new water pump

The better transmission is in and all we have to do is put the torque converter bolts in now

Thank you. I didn’t paint it other just painting the water pump.

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100

So the Eldelbrock carburetor came in the mail faster then I expected

I put it on the intake just to see what everything will look like so far

I still have to finish installing it and hook things up to it

Hallelujah!!!!

I feel like I am getting so close to getting it running by itself.

Still need to get a driveshaft, wiring harness and some other things.
she’s making some major progress

Your truck is coming along very nicely! You have done a great job and it will be a blast to drive when finished. If you get a chance get a 1 inch spacer to put under your carb, should help to keep your gas from boiling when you drive it. Good choice on drivetrain also.

Yeah I installed a spacer yesterday. I am making major progress so far. Still waiting on my IDIDIT steering and the power steering box from CPP

Will update soon when I get more stuff on it
