If you grew up with Mechanics Illustrated ...

You are going to like this page. I remember these DIY automotive projects and thought how cool would it be to be able to build something like these?

Mechanics Illustrated was one of my staples growing up. I drooled over those projects.

Re: If you grew up with Mechanics Illustrated ...

I saw the bug camper and I remember thinking back in the day that thing was so cool, but how the heck could it even go up a hill, much less a mountain pass like we have around here?

I had this pic saved in my one tons thread. I was wondering how it would look Blazer sized. So I chopped up a camper pic and sorta crappily pasted it over someone on the boards Blazer.

Next I went out to the shop to look at my 71 C30 haha. If I tried something like that all I would be doing was making scrap metal.

I guess Dieselwrencher's milk truck would be a great start for that....

That would be a cool start, I had forgotten about that truck .. right click save.

I really like the funkiness of the stubby camper on the bug, that's why I chose a blazer (short wb) for my funky version.
