Tire cleaner
What kind of tire cleaner do you use? I use Wesley's bleach white, and it works good, but also seems pretty harsh.

2nd on the Wesley's... it will take a "browned" tire and bring back that great black color. Not to mention it will make your white letters bright white again.
So what other products are you guy's using?

I alwasys used Wesley's but noticed it started to ruin the paint wheels on my antique cars. I switched to Simple Green 50-50. Spray on let set a minute or two and use an SOS pads or steel wool and does a super job. Does hurt the paint or my wood wheels. I bought some new tires for 48 Ford and directions say not to use Wesley's as it turns tires brown after a while. Some how the black rubber behing WW's turn the tires brown. Just my thoughts. I had used Wesley's for about 50 years before.

Hmm... that's a new one on me, but thank you for the review. I have a ton of Simple Green in the garage that I'm going to use on my engine cleanup project.

here's a trick an old school car show guy taught me. if you want new looking tires without the Armour All shine AND without attracting dust, try Ru-Glyde rubber conditioner. Got mine at Oreilly.
It was originally used as a liquid to mount tires. Now, I use iton hoses, tires, pedals. Yes pedals. It doesn't make rubber slick. Good stuff, Maynerd....

I use Stoners to keep my tires black looking. They do not have the wet look. I apply before I use the car wash and wash them off. They stay black and only have to do it once a moth or so.
Be careful with the Weasley's if you have polished aluminum wheels. It will etch them and it's a job to get them polished back out. |

i use gojo with fine steel wool gets em clean without the phoney wet look// plus its one less specialty product on the shelf
i also use gojo for cleaning heater hoses rad hoses wire harnesses leather uphlolstery and yes my hands and laundry too

I like to use the green soft scrub (with bleach) with a stiff nylon brush on tires. Get em wet, soft scrub them with the nylon brush and hose em off...A guy showed me this trick about 16 years ago, man does it make raised white letter tires look good!
