Lay rocker or lay door.... Need your vote

I'm debating cutting the rotted rockers off my panel truck. The frame was 8" tall under the can being a 1ton. We added 3x5 box to the frame. We cut an inch off the bottom of the frame so it's level and then took 2" off the top of the frame under the cab. At this point I already have to redo the floors anyways because of rot. If I body drop it another 2" roughly I can basically lay door. My only concern is at that point I need to drop the frame horns down about 4"s. Also have to cut off the rear 4"s.

Besides the steering (which I have to redo anyways) what other issues may I run into. Plan on just running some 15s with 75 series tires. I get roughly 13" of lift in the front. I don't want to run into hood issues.

So I need your vote. Lay rocker or door here's some pics.

From a practical standpoint it seems like it would be better to keep the rockers, so the bottom of the doors wouldn't be torn up by the pavement when the chassis is laid out, and someone wants to get in or out of the vehicle.

I plan on putting some strapping under the door so it won't actually sit on the door. Probably 3/16 or 1/4 strapping.

IMO, it just won't look right without rocker panels.

Keep the rockers. Vehicles just don't look right w/o them. Make them shorter if you just have to be that much closer to the ground.

How are you achieving 13" of front lift?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

That's what I thought I had before. I'm probably wrong. I'll check it again later. I just have some airlift 2600 bags
