My heart is heavy tonight.

A very good, long time friend of mine lost a daughter today to a heart attack. I can't imagine the heart break he and his wife are suffering. I have always thought that losing a child would be the hardest thing one could ever go through.

I have know her since she was a little girl. She was in her mid forties and had two teenage children.

My prayers are with Terry and Lebeta and their family tonight.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

Im terribly sorry for you, your friend and his wife. It is truly heartbreaking to lose a child even if they are not yours.

A friend (and coworker) lost his youngest son at 11 years old, two years ago Nov. 16th. I had known him since he was 6. I had never experienced that kind of pain, before or since. I still can't even begin to grasp my friend and his wife's feeling of loss and emptiness.

Ive looked at my own four kids in a different light ever since and I don't suspect they will really understand til they have children of their own.

Again, my heart and prayers go out to you, your friend, his family and her children.

Really sorry to hear that Larry. That is too young. It has to be hard for family and friends, especially if they are close.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

I just can't fathom that pain. Or maybe I just don't want to. We have a friend whose daughter committed suicide leaving her to raise her daughters two small children. It's just so sad.

My kids may drive me nuts sometimes. But I'd be destroyed if something happened to them like that. My heart goes out to your friend and yourself.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

Losing a child has got to be the hardest death to deal with. Its just not what is expected, therefore least prepared for. We love our children in ways like no others on Earth. I'm sorry for your friends Terry and Lebeta, and their family. It's not so easy for you either, Larry, I know. The good thing in this is they have a good friend in you. I bet you aren't the only one.

The boy I watched grow up from birth in the house behind me died instantly when struck by a pickup late one night riding home from his restaurant job (in another town). I was closer with him than his own father.

This death was sudden I imagine. Sudden death would be my own wish, but that is the hardest on our loved ones. Knowing your fate with no choice but to watch it happen is the worst. But it's better for loved ones by giving them a chance to accept, give loving support to the dying, and maybe say those things they always needed to.

Awful news. I'm truly sorry for the loss. My dad died unexpectedly - it's difficult to handle such tragedy.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

Terrible news that I regret to hear, Larry. Thoughts and prayers to your friends and even you.

Lost my sister in law back in 2016 and she was only 44 at the time. Sad for all the friends and family for certain.

Peace and comfort to you all.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

I've always said "The true test of a person's character is the number of people at their funeral."

I read in the obituary a while ago that they are having the services at the local college gym.

I was sad, yet proud, at my dad's funeral services 6 years ago. I was amazed at the number of people that attended.

Re: My heart is heavy tonight.

I'm sure your friend is a good man and his dearly departed daughter was a good woman. The four words "long time good friend" tell it all. I also think where you live is a "tight community" where you still find people adhering to the simple basics required to maintain such values
