1972 SBC Header to Starter Clearance

Hi all, I have a 1972 C10 SWB I am building, with a 400 sbc and turbo 350. My engine has a mini starter on it, my issue I put the headers on it the drivers side fits and clears fine. The passenger side fits and clears except for one tube is within 1/16 inch touching the starter. Am wondering f I should try to bend the pipe a little with a board and hammer. OR???????

Thanks
Eddie

Re: 1972 SBC Header to Starter Clearance

We took a different approach and built a heat shield. I've been running the truck for over a year now with no issues. Check out my build thread for more photos, including some building the shield.
