That would be a big help to me if your wheels are 15 inch. I'm pretty sure 10 1/8 is the size, but I hate tp order stuff and end up paying return shipping.

The tire stores around here dont seem to stock these. I guess they don't sell enough 'retro' stuff to make it worth their trouble.

Here's another option to consider. I thought this was a really classy combo.

Classic Parts has one kinda like that. Those sure would be nice !

http://www.classicparts.com/1947-53-...info/64%2D019/

They don't give the diameter or even tell whether it fits a 15" 6 lug rim. They're pricey too !

Re: Moon caps + trim wheres - where to find?

I hate to invade on this post but I have a question. I am looking at running the baby moons also and would like to ask what tire size are you guys running for them. My truck is stock height and will be that way for a bit. Right now I have some AT tires on and need them changed out. Thanks for any pictures and ideas you have. Show me what you have.

tomorrow i have nothing to do. I'll pull the rings and moons then, and measure them. I'll also get you my tire size.

Re: Moon caps + trim wheres - where to find?

I've got a set of 16" wheels that I think would look good on my 72 done up with baby moons and trim rings. Does anybody know if they make them for 16" rims. I'll go out today and do some measuring and see what I come up with.

Re: Moon caps + trim wheres - where to find?

I measured across the wheel as per one of the previous diagrams and it was 10 1/8". I had a guy looking at my old donor truck and he said the mount that would hold the moon in place was the same width as the 15" rims. The beauty rings will maybe be the hard thing to find.

Are you talking about 16" rims? If so they're actually bigger then 10 1/8". The trim rings are available though, I got mine at Hubcap Mike's.

Re: Moon caps + trim wheres - where to find?

I'll have to go and remeasure them again. I figured that it was just to easy.

Re: Moon caps + trim wheres - where to find?

ok I am struggling with my baby moons. I have the four nipple rims and have 10 1/8 moons. I cant get the damn things on. It is a struggle not to dent them. How hard should it be to get them on? When I measured the rims I got 10 1/4 outside of nipple to outside of nipple. I am measuring the bigger nipples. What advice do you guys have?
