72 C10 Tire Size Question

I found a good deal on wheels and tires for my 72 C10 step side. The only issue is that I'm not sure how the tires will look. They're 235/65/R16. Will they look okay? I know everyone has preferences on what tire size looks best, but I'm not asking which size looks best.....more curious if this size will look good, decent, or terrible... : )

Re: 72 C10 Tire Size Question

They’re 28 inches tall.
They’ll look just about the same as the stock wheels/tires. Slight difference in sidewall height.
What are the wheels off of?

Re: 72 C10 Tire Size Question

Might need a wider lug nut
I put a set of 96 steel mags the lug nuts are too loose against the wheel too drive
I can see it in the lug nut the 96 has a much bigger matting face

Go visit tire shop ask for lugnut option's

Re: 72 C10 Tire Size Question

I have two 72's, one with 15's and my daily driver has 16's. The 16's made the truck look like a stout C/20. On the highway the 16's keep that 373 Posi from rapping the motor to high...

Re: 72 C10 Tire Size Question

Most c10 k10 would have 235 75 15
So tire wise its close
Stock c10 lug nuts are 1/2 20 88 98 m14 1.5 pretty much metric 9/16

You can see in the pics the standard c10 acron style nut it loose in the pocket where the 96 c1500 lug nut face fills the pocket

If you use these wheels its a safety issue not fully secuding wheel on truck if you can not find a wider face lug nuts

I know i will be looking as well as i planed to use the mags of my 96 parts truck on my c10

Other way would be upgrade to m14 1.5 wheel studs

Can I just use the lug nuts that are currently on the C10?

Re: 72 C10 Tire Size Question

I dont think so
Look at the m14 1.5 lug nut the tapered face is wider the the wheel wrench side of the nut look at 1/2 20 lug nuts tapered face is smaller then wheel wrench side

Do you have a good tire shop talk to them about lug nuts to fit those wheels
