Blazer wont start

I have a 1993 blazer 4x4 4.3 auto and it wont start. It just died on the highway the other night and now it wont start. I have pulled a plug and it has good spark so I put a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve at the back of the engine(Vortec) and during a start attempt it gets to around 60 psi, will hold around 45 psi overnight. If I have the wife help, it will start if I use starting fluid and then run normally, when warmed up it will start again normally but when it cools off, same problem, no start unless starting fluid is used and it seems to require a lot of starting fluid to get it going. It had a minor miss every now and again during operation but nothing that would cause me to try and fix that problem because it was not happening very often. I am thinking along the lines of a temp sensor but it might also be plugged injectors or who knows, I am not real familiar with these vortec injection systems, anybody had the same problem or recomendations on where to start troubleshooting? No check engine light or abnormal operating problems when it runs.

Re: Blazer wont start

seeing as it starts and runs with help (starting fluid) I think the injector drivers are OK as well as the CKP. a bad CMP will cause a long crank but not a no start or make it die. I am thinking you have a problem with the fuel supply system. whether it be pressure (I know you said you checked it but I have seen gauges read wrong) or volume. does Autozone have a volume tester you can rent? I have one I bought for $400 and it's amazing how many pumps I find bad with it.

plugged filter? throw one in and retry

Coolant temp sensor, TPS, IAC.
You need to start testing sensors. I would start with the coolant temp. If you have acces to a scan tool. Compare the ambient temp to what the sensor is reading when cold.
