Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

I requested a number of green samples from stock interiors who sells ACC carpet. Attached is what I received against a good sample of my factory carpet (out of the sun and not worn).

Any ideas? The truck is a 72 C20 White/ochre/white/ocre with olive cloth interior.

None of these seem to match very closely. Anyone know the proper color?

Was one of your samples 588-Dark Green?

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

What I was sent was moss green, light green, dark green, and dark olive green. By far the closest is the dark olive green (makes sense since the factory interior is called olive.

As close as the olive green is, it really isn’t correct either. Any suggestions?

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

I got samples for light green, teal and turquoise and decided that turquoise would match my seat vinyl and be more true to the interior color scheme, although the truck is 503 light green on the exterior. Since you're replacing the entire floor carpet, it probably won't be that noticeable to use Dark Olive, especially if it compliments the arm rests, dash pad, etc. You might contact Stock Interiors and send them your pic in case their are other colors available that they don't have listed under the Chevy trucks.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

I checked a few other car manufacturers on the Stock Interiors site and there are no other greens showing up in the 80/20 loop carpet...same color chart for Fords, Dodges, etc.

Maybe it's just how the colors show up on the screen/monitor, but it sure looks like the bottom sample in your pic is teal instead of dark green. Is it possible they may have sent a wrong sample, like 533 Dark Teal instead of 588 Dark Green? The P/Ns could be mistaken easily for each other.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

That’s an interesting theory. The dark green doesn’t look green in person either. Now I have more questions.

The only green I didn’t receive was just plain old green in standard nylon loop. I called them and they are mailing me that sample. If that doesn’t work, I may have to investigate the incorrect sample theory.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

Hopefully that's the one you need. It would be a bummer to shell out $$ for a different shade only to find out later the true green was available. For kicks I've attached the color samples from ACC's web site too. The dark green sure seems like the one you need. Let us know how it works out.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

I'm also looking for the correct carpet color that would be with option "163210 Olive Cloth Custom". I ordered the samples attached in the pic and put them all side by side for easier comparison. I'm going to assume the carpet currently installed is correct as it matches up to what was left underneath (to act as sound deadner?). I'll take a pic of my samples with my carpet once they arrive.

I can't attest personally, but the OP's carpet sure looks like the "Loop 45 Green" option in the pic above. There's always the chance the factory screwed up and put the wrong carpet color. Not like that hasn't happened before....

I agree...Loop 45 Green looks correct. ACC and Stock Interiors don't show a plain medium green in their online samples.

A quick online search shows a few online listings from other sites with "Loop 45 Green" from ACC for 70-72 Monte Carlo. Sure enough, I went to the ACC site and looked at carpet for a '70 Monte and "45 Green" shows up in their color sample list. I would bet that Stock Interiors can order truck carpets in 45 Green as well.

Why wouldn't you just go to one of the truck vendors such as classic parts or even rockauto and select dark green....do you think they don't have it figured out? I mean thye specialize in selling parts for these years of trucks

You would think, but no. Many of the online vendors only carry a couple of basic colors. LMC has 6 very basic colors. I thought they would carry a lot more shades for the restoration crowd. Rock Auto has 12 colors (ACC carpet). Stock Interiors (also ACC carpet) has 31 colors listed for Chevy trucks, and could maybe include the 45 Green for 32 colors.

I just spoke to Stock Interiors and they can make the C10 carpet in 45 Green, but the order has to be placed over the phone since the color isn't available on the web site for Chevy trucks.

To thoroughly beat this subject to death, per the ACC web site 45 Green is available for Camaros, Kingwoods, Monte Carlos and Novas.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

So the regular green ended up being the closest color match. I ended up still ordering the dark olive green. It matched the interior parts better (column, vinyl portions of the seat, steering wheel, etc.

And as to the comment about these companies knowing what came in your truck - false haha.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

As I previously posted, I too am looking for the correct green to put in my truck. I took pictures with the samples in different light and compared to the faded carpet, carpet underneath the floor mat, the new cloth part of the seat, the new vinyl of the seat and against the door panel.

In all the pictures with 4 samples the colors from left to right are: Loop 14 Moss Green, Loop 08 Dark Green, Loop 45 Green & Loop 30 Dark Olive Green. Once I narrowed it down to two, then it is Loop 45 Green left, Loop 30 Dark Olive Green on the right.

The 1st picture is just a comparison of the carpet under the floor mat (the best non faded).
The 2nd picture is on a overcast day compared to the cloth part of the new seat cover.
The 3rd picture is a relatively sunny day compared to the cloth part of the new seat cover.
The 4th picture is the 2 best samples (Loop 45 green on left, Loop 30 Dark Olive Green on the right) compared to the door panel / arm rest.
The 5th picture is the 2 best samples (Loop 45 green on left, Loop 30 Dark Olive Green on the right) compared to the vinyl part of the seat only.

Since the door panel, arm rest, cloth part of the seat and the vinyl are not all the same anyway, you're picking the best all around visual match. Like J_CST_10 I think the Loop 45 Green is the best match and will probably order that unless someone can point to a better manufacturer / choice other than ACC.

Hope this helps some others and thanks for reading!

Good choice Ron. Loop 45 Green looks good with that fabric, and appears to be the closest match to your original carpet.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

j_cst_10, did you ever get the Dark Green Carpet and install? Do you have some pics to share? I'm curious if you ended up being satisfied.

WES said that the correct carpet is the Dark Green, so that is probably what I'll go with, but I still have some reservations as those color samples confuse more than help.

I did receive the dark green and it was the correct color match. I ordered the dark olive green anyway and it looks great with my interior.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

I saw a request for photos of ACC Dark Olive 80/20 loop carpet so I hope my photos are helpful.

When comparing before and after photos, please note the decorative CST side panels were replaced during carpet installation with new reproductions from Brothers (labeled Truck World) that were a slightly different shade of green than the originals. The front seat covers are not original however the rear seat cover is original.

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

For folks interested in seeing how the color of Olive Green 80/20 loop from ACC held up over time, here are three photos:

1) The old carpet (2008)
2) Freshly installed ACC Olive green carpet (2009)
3) ACC Olive Green carpet today (2020)

The olive carpet has been in for 11 years. I expected the carpet to experience some degree of fading similar the seat belts but not for it to turn brown.

I hope this helps.

Obviously you guys are getting hit with more UV than most being in a blazer platform. I wonder if there is any type of spray on treatment to resist UV penetration?

Re: Matching up the right green carpet from ACC

This is true, sun exposure is much greater on the Blazer/Jimmy. A marine grade carpet would be ideal but I will try 303 Marine Fabric Protectant on the next new carpet.

I ordered the same samples you did- 5 shades of green. I think Olive is probably the best match but am waiting to see what dark green looks like before I order.
