Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

I thought so too flashed

Man, have the food gods with us the last couple days
Last nights was a steal
But this morning it felt necessary to stop at mc Donald's on way out of Milwaukee

Tonight we had to pay a bit over 40$ (That's ok though)
Because when we both started feeling about 8 months pregnant

These nice people at vinny's

Gave us the stuff so we are ready for breakfast and lunch tommorow

By far, the best meal on this trip so far

You keep heading north, you're going to miss the real Rockies (Colorado that is)! Gonna have to swing back south to catch the changing aspen leaves.

(With apologies to those who live in Montana, Idaho, and select areas of Wyoming)

We're headed south now. But probably only as far as the Iowa 80 truck stop
We keep thinking we want to go see Mount Rushmore
Originally Colorado and Utah were on the list but it's not to often
You would take a vacation to these off the beaten path places
There are so many beautiful places within driving distance in Co. And Ut
That we could hit up on a specific vacation
I don't think Either of uswould ever go to stugis specifically,
But since it is kind of on the way it keeps calling

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Still ridding along with ya, awesome trip. I enjoyed Iowa 80, if your into American pickers there not to far east along the route to the 80 truck stop. We drove over to both on our route 66 trip while in Illinois. Just a thought.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Check this place out, we went to

The house on the rock

I thought we would see some cool rock formation
Instead it was a dream of some guy that he started building back in the 40s
He just started, and kept building on this Boulder formation
This place was crazy, can't ever explain it
He also collected tons of stuff in his lifetime (that is on display too)

This pic is us, in what I think was called the infinity room

Look behind us it looks like it never ends

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Here is what it looks like on the outside

Who dreams up a structure like that

We were standing in that thing about 2/3 of the way out
If you walked to heavily, you could feel it move like you were on a huge diving board

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

I think I have enough Trix to share a bowl, but we need milk. I'd like to check out that wild place. We have "Falling Waters" near my mom's in PA. You guys are doing it right. That I-80 truck museum could blow a camera up! Never been there, but have seen a lot in pictures. They bring trucks and displays out to the national ATHS shows.

Oops, did I hit Go Advanced, Manage Attachments, Browse, Pictures/Places/Water Towers/Corn Water Tower, Upload by accident?

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

This place is pretty cool

Kind of a museum about rivers

Mixed in with aquarium exhibits

We wanted to see the ugly bottom dwellers that run rivers

I got to pet a sturgeon
But
I thought this made for a better picture

Keep trending North and you'd have retraced Seger's "Roll Me Away." My favorite road/travel song, by far. Cool places!

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Hey Andy,
Thanks for introducing us to all your friends Tailgating

Your buddy "Worm" got kicked out...
Pretty quickly in fact
After only two salutes(with his smuggled in trumpet)

I guess Some of ND States fans weren't to excited
About his skill at getting the Iowa fans to cheer
So they complained about it

After that. Steve and joe broke out their stash
That stuff in they bring in, in the small bottles

Thank god
they were a little short!

There wasn't enough to go around
So Dirk and "smitty" never were able to gain enough momentum
Heckling the Bison fans themselves'
To have the pleasure of being escorted out to
Meet "worm" back in the parking lot
where all the free beer was

Seriously, all you guys
We had a blast in Iowa City

And I'll see you
With
Sky dog
Out west
This winter
