Tonneau cover question

I have a 1970 Chevy short bed fleet side that is tubbed and narrowed and am looking for a tonneau cover. Question is : Am I limited to 67-72 or will newer trucks fit as well like 73-87? Not wanting to drill a bunch of holes in bed so wanted to see what my options and so I come here first. Appreciate any help and HAPPY THANKGIVING!!

Extang Revolution ...

This is what I bought... no drilling and these are made for our trucks. Great fit up also.

Re: Tonneau cover question

I just purchased the extang vinyl cover that snaps on. It's weather tight and comes with like a 10 year warranty. No drilling at all. I was told by a few that it's a really good cover and not pricey. Unless you are talking about fiberglass covers then I can't help you!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Re: Tonneau cover question

Was it for the 67-72 model? Extang makes a trifecta folding that I had on a newer truck and really liked but it only goes back to 73. wasn't sure if the 73-87 short beds were the same length and width.

That extang revolution is pretty nice!! Dose it cover up the bed rails completely? Waning something that will up the stake pockets and go to edge of bed.

Re: Tonneau cover question

I just installed a extang blackmax on my 68 short fleet and it was the 73-87 model and fit was perfect. Covers all of the stake pockets. Have pics of it installed but everytime I resize it to post it is so small that you can't see it. If you'd like I could e-mail you pics if you private message me your e-mail addy

Here you go ...

The left back corner wasn't fastened so it looks like a bad fit but it does fasten flush. .

Re: Tonneau cover question

NICE!!! Appreciate the pic. Gives me a pretty good idea. My bed is all wheel tub and am wanting to disguise it some. Of course if you look at it from rear you do notice the 33x 21.50's peeking out at ya. thanks again.

Does anyone make a cover for steppers? Has anyone seen a hardtop on a stepper? I don't know if I want one or not.

WOW! That is a clean, tight fit! I was on the fence about a hard Gaylords fiberglass lid but didn't want to drill anything, and was kinda skeptical about regular cloth/vinyl tonneau's but the Extang looks very nice!

Thanks 70cst for steering me in the right direction!
